About
The Road Safety and Insurance Fund Service was established by the Council of Ministers under Regulation No. 493/2022. The RSIFS is responsible for promoting road traffic safety awareness, ensuring the convenience, safety, non-vulnerability, and efficiency of road traffic for users, and reducing road traffic deaths, serious injuries, and property damage resulting from road traffic accidents.
Moreover, the RSIFS is responsible for paying compensation to victims of death, disability, and property damage caused by a vehicle accident, ensuring emergency medical services are provided to prevent further injuries, and reducing the economic and psychological harm suffered by traffic crash victims. The institution is thus crucial for ensuring road traffic safety in Ethiopia.
